I went to Thailand after spending one year in Korea so I didn't yet have the acquired taste for curries while in Korea. I am preparing to go back to Korea and then Thailand again this Winter.

I just love them currie dishes and have been cooking it regularly since being back in the states with fresh ingredients except the coconut.

The Bangladeshi supermarket in Itaewon (heading up hooker hill - before What The Book) has a number of Thai ingredients - curry (same brand I buy in the states), coconut milk, frozen Kaffir lime leaves, limes (sometimes), cilantro.

Hannam mart has fresh lemongrass

both stores sell Thai coconut water drink - although not the roasted one that I like

Kim's Club also has coconut milk.

Costco (Yangjae) has red and green curry sauce.

The big Korean supermarkets are overpriced at about 3-4000 a tin. The curry sauce at costco is for those who cant cook using paste. For good paste and cheap cocnut cream/milk then the best place is Ansan, failing that then any of the asian stores around or the ones on the hill in Itaewon.

I'm facing a lack of coconut milk/cream in my town - checked all 3 local supermarkets & nada. Next time I'm in the big smoke I'll have to go on a coconut search. Glad to hear it's available in some places.
