hey. my roomie and i enjoyed some gamin back at home and we have been here for a few months and are looking for a console, preferably a 360. we would like to purchase a modded one if possible. so i guess i would like to know:
a) is it possible here
b) best place
c) price
d) and if possible could anyone offer some insight on how to actually play downloaded games (ive actually never played a modded system before)
thanks for your help.
oh, and is there anywhere to purchase a decent sized tv. our school provided us with a couple 21 inchers and they wouldnt really suffice. looking for maybe a 32 inch tube... just for the cheapness really.

a. yes.
b. depends where you are. most will tell you yongsan, but i live in busan, not seoul.
c. i paid close to 500,000 recently for the console, modding, extra wireless controller/cable and two battery packs, hdmi cable, and they threw in a cheap copy of gta4. anyway, it'll depend on the shop.
d. you dl the game, unrar, and burn it. that's it. you first have to ensure that it's either region-free or ntsc-j(or often asia) though. you're sol for a lot of ea or 2k games, esp. hockey, from what i know so far. you need a computer with a double-layer capable burner, double-layer dvds, and a burning program like imgburn. not sure about seoul, but the dvds are currently selling for 24,000 for a box of ten in busan these days.

the tv thing will also depend on what you want. ours is a 42 inch plasma which we bought for near 2,000,000 nearly two years ago. the same tv is selling for around 800-900 nowadays. |

I'm thinking of selling mine. It's soft-modded, comes with two wireless controllers, a notebook of burned games (probably something like 30-40, not sure), and half a spindle of DL DVD-Rs. Likely problem being that it's in Daegu, but if you're interested I can put more details. I'm thinking around 300k.
I can also help with whatever needs helping with, but I think denverdeath pretty much covered the basics. There's not a whole lot to it, so long as you remember that it also won't work on XBL. |

Surely is. If you play a modded box online it's basically only a matter of time before it happens, so it's not really a good option if you intend to do so. |

| Thanks a lot for the help. I think I have found one already modded with a stack of games for $200. Not being able to play online isnt that big of a deal so no worries on that. Was really hoping to be able to burn NHL 08 but I guess you cant win them all... Anyone know how much an external dual layer dvd burner would run for these days? Best place to order online or to check out yeongson? Also, cheap TVs? Thanks again for the help. |
