I'll be flying home with my pet soon and I have a layover at Narita Airport... does anyone know if there is a place in the airport where I can let my poor dog out of the cage to run around before getting back on the plane for another 10 hours?

I wasn't paying attention at Narita Airport for a good area for that, but I travel with a dog stroller for my dogs. The airlines take them at the gate like child strollers and let you pop your dog into its carrier, then the gate people will have it waiting for you when you walk off the plane with your dog. I have found it wonderful for wandering around the airports so that my dogs don't have to be in their carriers. Just an idea, in case you don't find a better solution.

somebody PLEASE confirm this!!!

Christina is getting a COMPLETE stonewalling from both Korean Air and Continental (Korea, USA, AND Japan) - they are all telling her that there are NO pets allowed in/out of Narita, either in-cabin OR as live animal cargo.

Everyone keeps passing the buck off to everyone else. Ticket was bought through Expedia; it is technically Continental's flight, and the transfer is in Narita (from Korea Air to Continental) before heading back to the USA. (to the point where Continental Cargo Korea refused to give his name over the phone, and hung up on us).

Thanks in advance!!!

I bought my ticket in Korea. It was a total hassle to find a ticket that my hagwon would pay for and that would also allow me to carry my pet in the cabin. Eventually I found a flight with United.

While searching, I found fares on sites like Expedia that were All Nippon operated by United - they were a lot cheaper than just an actual United flight - so I made some calls to confirm that I could purchase the All Nippon flight operated by United and make a reservation for my pet - they said that that was not possible. (All Nippon carries pets in cargo, United will allow them in the cabin)

Anyway I got the run around and finally just decided to purchase the United flight because I was tired of fighting.

And it certainly isn't true that Narita doesn't allow pets. Good luck.
