Sounds like you're missing codecs.


I'd get smplayer. Others might recommend VLC. If for some reason you're really attached to media player you can download the codec pack someone suggested earlier.

after all that work, i'm glad you got it together.

btw, i love gom player ... it actually detects and directs you to where you can get codecs. i'm pretty sure it's a korean owned program too. handy piece of software.

I agree about GOM Has a right handy interface as well.

Thats why I like vlc, I have never had a video not play. It will even play partly downloaded files (say stuck at 97%). I have never needed to download codecs. Sure it's ugly but if you are playing fullscreen who cares

Or you could get smplayer which can actually do a couple things VLC can't, is also lightweight, and less ugly to boot. Wink
