I'm fairly certain you need an invitation to go to the Mass Games. It's not exactly a first come, first served venue. |

You shouldn't fund a dictatorship where the money goes to enslave and kill all the people. |

www.koryogroup.com is the most well-known option for DPRK tours, based in Beijing. |

You don't need an invitation, you just can't prebook and its unlikely to sell out |

Is it better to tacitly support a liberal democracy where the military budget is over twenty times larger than the GDP of said military dictatorship? |

GDP (purchasing power parity):
$40 billion
note: North Korea does not publish any reliable National Income Accounts data; the datum shown here is derived from purchasing power parity (PPP) GDP estimates for North Korea that were made by Angus MADDISON in a study conducted for the OECD; his figure for 1999 was extrapolated to 2007 using estimated real growth rates for North Korea's GDP and an inflation factor based on the US GDP deflator; the result was rounded to the nearest $10 billion (2007 est.)
GDP (official exchange rate):
$2.22 billion (2006 est.)
https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/kn.html
the $40bil you posted is based on PPP which basically mean relative to what they can buy with their money in NK, the true GDP figure for '06 is $2.22 bil |

I'm definitely interested in getting a glimpse, however brief, of North Korea. Politics aside, I've sent an email to Koryo Group about a possible tour including the Mass Games. However, they are based in China, so I think we should keep track of everyone that has interest from South Korea, and just keep each other aware of what info we're finding. I'm sure this isn't gonna be as easy as traveling Western Europe...haha. My name is Jordy...let's do this! |
