Three out of the four threads about this in the FAQ section are dead links, and the only one that works is like....five years old.

Which is why I ask....how do you prevent mosquitos from buzzing around your apartment and biting you throughout the night? My windows don't have screens and my A/C shuts of at night....so it's either sweat or be attacked!

Any advice on where to buy mosquito-killing paraphernalia would be greatly appreciated. My "E-mah-tah" only sells roach bait and bug spray.

You can purchase something called '홈매트' it is a bug killer. It looks like a little blue memory chip. You also have to buy '홈매트전기살충기' which is what it goes into. The entire thing should cost about 10,000 won.

I found mozzie coils in a local corner shop near the bug spray....you wouldn't want to burn that all night though. It might be worthwhile offering to pay for a couple of screens for your bedroom windows.

I have screens but bugs still get in. I had a HUGE slug crawling around the other night. I stepped on it. How? Why?

I wish I could have screens installed....but my windows open from the inside and push out. I don't know how the whole screen thing would possibly work, none of the other windows in my building have them.



I will check out that glowing, blue electric device.

Buy some screen and staple it to the inside of the window frame.

I lived in an officetel once with windows that pushed out, like you described.. we had screens that rolled down from the top of the window and hooked at the bottom, sort of like a recoiling window shade. They probably aren't difficult to install at all, but I can imagine something like that being a bit pricey.

I came into school with a mozzie bite on my neck the other day and my co-teacher freaked and got me a mozzie net. Sort of a pain but quite a novelty for me.

I would reccommend it. Hasn't been bad lately but it's raining here today so they should be out in force in the next day or two.

Those things that you plug in and insert a little tablet thingy seemed to work for me. You can get them at any 7-11 and such like.

Also, have a fan blowing over you all night. I do that all year round because I like the feeling of the air blowing over me. In summer, it keeps the mozzies off because they are not strong flyers and they can't fly in the breeze from the fan. I've seen countless mozzies try to assault me and failed because they got blown away by the fan.

I would, it can't hurt and it is not like your school will fire you for asking for an A/C. Also, it will get extremely hot during the summer. However, be ready for them to say "no," or ask you to pay for it.

The things you plug in with the little cup of liquid attached to them seem to work wonders at my place. They're far preferable to and effective than stinky coils.
