Anybody know of this school? They offer teaching adults one to one. They constantly have a post on the job board.
To me, it sounds like an awesome job. no babysitting, no preperation, and a normal base salary. sounds to good to be true.
if u have heard anything about this place, please fill me in.
thanks |

I don't mind wearing lab coats. Specifically, if anybody knows the drawbacks to this job, thats what I'm looking for. Thanks for the reply though. |

if it's all adults you will probably end up doing split shifts. If you live near the school that makes it a bit easier I'd imagine.
upside i guess is you can perhaps bone a few of your students. |

I had a look at EC. Didn't look like a good deal to me. Maybe if it's your first year it might be okay. Yeah, teaching adults is nice, but the pay is really not good at all. And the lab coat deal is just plain silly. Oh, and split shifts suck for most people - maybe you are one who wouldn't mind that though. |

A friend of mine worked for them a few years back and HATED it.
She said it was basically sitting through hour after hour of middle-aged Korean businessmen hitting on her in English and being told by management to suck it up.
The split shift thing was far more difficult to deal with than she expected, and often she ended up having to do placement tests and interviews between split shifts that drastically cut down on her "free time".
She finished at 11pm and had to be in at something like 5:30am the next day.
No one she worked with was happy and there were 3 or 4 runners in the 7 months that she worked there.
I'd pass. |
