Hello Dave's ESLers,
You guys have been very helpful so far, and I want to ask for you help again. I have been offered a position with Kid's Club in Bundang. The accomodations seem nice, the pay is reasonable at 2.2 million won per month. The teaching hours are somewhat steep at 120 hours per week, but every thing else seems good.
Any comments on the quality of the school? This school seems better than the last one.
Thanks in advance for any help. |

it really depends on the kid's club, as they are franchises.
so you will need to hear from someone who worked at that specific one.
I worked at one in busan, and it was not good.
I would say that the prospect of any Kid's Club is a dicey proposition... avoid if possible. |

Do you have any specific complaints? I currently have an interview coming up for a public school in Incheon, but the actual interview has not even been set up yet. Also, the housing seems really good for this Kid's Club. |

is it relevant? the KC I worked for is not the same...
anyway, it was your typical first-timer job where they kept adding to what was expected of you ... you'd get used to that, and then they'd give you another responsibility as well. worst of all, they were engaged in shady accounting practices. e.g. not creating a pension plan, taxing a "flat" 5% and allocating it into ????. They ended up firing me when I took them to task on the pension and I haven't looked back since. |

I was under the impression that Bundang is not in Busan, but near Seoul. Where is it exactly?
Also I hope you mean 120 hours a month?
In any case, go for the public school. Less teaching time, more vacation. |

120 a month, yes.
The only problem with the public school is that it pays less. I would probably go with them though. Incheon seems nice too. |
