So someone just abandoned a little rodent at our doorstep....just sitting at home, and the doorbell rings. I get up to answer it, and see the elevator door closing. And right there in front of our door is a crappy red plastic wastebasket with a tiny teeny little hamster in it!
I have no idea what to do with it. I gave it some hay and wood chips, and a toilet paper roll. Really really weird.
We don't want it, as we already have a rabbit. Any ideas?
Weird. Just really weird. |

One of my grade 4 students brought a hamster to class last week.
The students asked me "Teacher, what is hamster in English?"
Very quick thinking - I licked my lips and said "Hamburger"..
The students grabbed the hamster and quickly ran out the door.... |

You have go to be kidding. How could you know this if it is true? The OP wants to discuss why a tiny hamster was left at her doorstep.
I don't know, it's rather strange and have never heard of such sillyness as to why this happened. It could mean anything, but that's the scary part of course. Or it could be a student playing a prank on you if they know where you live. |

It has to be somebody that knows you have a rabbit. Becuase who else would have hamster food lying around or knows what the hell to feed it.
That is really strange though. Don't give it to any Koreans, they might think of it as lunch. |

I know a chick who would probably do something like leave a hamster at someone's door. OP, look on the bright side, it beats a flaming bag of dog poop! |

I think hay and wood chips may not be the best to give it. Toilet paper roll will probably kill it. |

That has to be one of the best thread titles in the history of Dave's.
I can be of no help whatsoever, but in the present situation I urge you to just shake your head and say, "This is one more unexplained mystery of living in Korea." Then smile and promise yourself you will write a story about it to send to all your friends and family back home. |

nah, hamsters love enclosed spaces, he'll probably hang out in the inside of the roll. Just keep your bedding and stuff far away from it- they're notorious for chewing up fabric |

Did you order any Korean ham from a restaurant?
Possible pronunciation mix-up. |
