In a class of 30 students, how many A's do you give? Just curious. No special reason.

As many as can do the work to that level.

I do not mark on the bell curve (not now nor when I was teaching at Uni).

I've just completed the 2nd of my 1st grade BHS speaking tests:

    Class 1~1
    (28 students)

    As - 8 = 29%
    Bs - 12 = 43%
    Cs - 7 = 25%
    Ds - 1 = 3%

    Class 1 ~2
    (26 students)

    As - 4 = 15%
    Bs - 12 = 46%
    Cs - 10 = 38%
    Ds - 0 = 0%

    Total
    (54 students)

    As - 12 = 22%
    Bs - 24 = 45%
    Cs - 17 = 31%
    Ds - 1 = 2%

Depends on the class for me- we do have a curve but it is spread across all the classes- so some classes that have better students may have more A's than other classes that lacked effort.

The curves seem to vary wildly from uni to uni- anywhere from a suggested 50/60% A's all the way down to 10% maximum.
