| If you have a dry suit, diving in the winter is ok. Visibility is great in the cold months. Lots of coral and other sea life. A 5mm wet suit is not the way to go during the winters in Jeju. But if you love diving, it don't matter what the conditions are like! If you do, dive on the south side of the island. One dive shop in Jeju city (PADI) is run by an American guy (not Korean American) from Hawaii and his Korean partner. |

I emailed one of the shops and the expected water temp is 19C. Not that bad. I have dived colder. I think 12C was the coldest.
I just might make the trip. |

| As far as I know, the water temp doesn't go below 16 degrees on Jeju. If you need a buddy, I might be interested in a trip down there. Here's a link to a shop with english speaking dms. |

16 degrees? Is that above or below the thermocline? Brrr! Man, you guys are just too hardcore for me. I'd wait a few more weeks and go to Guam during Solal or wait until the summer for Cheju- but you guys must be friggin polar bears!  |

| AT the moment this is all just wishful thinking. I'll figure out the cost for tickets to jeju and how much the dives might be and accomodation. etc |

| If you haven't been to Guam, then seriously do some price comparisons before heading off to Jeju. In diving terms, much more bang for your buck, and no drysuit! I went to Guam for Solal (lunar new year) a few years back and it was worth every penny. Not too many places in the world where you can do a double-wreck dive of a WWII Japanese ship resting atop a WWI German ship, and the coral and nudibranchs are spectacular. |

| Ever dive of the west coast of Australia. Pretty cool. some nice nudibrnches there. Dived a navy pier outside of Exmouth. Tons of fish. two white tipped reef sharks and a huge stingray. THe best diving i have ever done. NOt that i have done much. |

Diving in Australia is on my list of things to do before I die...
and I'd certainly settle for the Great Barrier reef. Are you from the West coast, or is the diving there good enough that you made the journey out there or something? |

I"m from a place thats a few hundred clicks from the west coast of canada.
When i was in Australia i hoped on the train out to western australia to dive the western reefs. I dived the ningaloo reef.
Never did get around to diving the great barrier reef. quite a few people claim that the great barrier reef isn't as good as it used to be and that the west coast is better. maybe one day i will make it back and do the great barrier.
I want to dive the coast of BC. i hear that its really good. |

I've heard the same but i still want to dive there. They say the GBR needs to be done via liveaboard now.
Let's get a trip to Jeju going. C'mon Bulsajo, 16 degrees isn't that cold. You certainly don't need a drysuit. It won't be toasty but it's doable. I haven't been in the water in a month. |

Unfortunately I'm about 9000km away. Jeju (off Sogwipo) was my last dive- it's been 3 years for me!  Traded in my dive gear for my a set of skis these past years (figuratively, not literally).
Hoping to go to Cuba in 2004 though... |
