				| any1 know of the costs to get these tests done at the foreign health clinic in itaewon. They speak english and you'd think that they'd be less hassle there. | |

If you get your tests done there, they will be REJECTED and you will have to go to one of the approved types of facilities to have them redone.

Once again, the health check must be performed by a government/public hospital (국립병원 / 공립병원) or a general hospital (종합병원).

				| if it's any consolation, i took the test about 3 weeks after coming to korea and took the test. standard urine. i passed, which means that they definitely were *not* testing for cannabinoids... | |

	  | The reason why Immigration dropped the cannabinoid test requirement is because so few places in Korea had the ability to test for it in the first place.
So now that Immi has officially dropped the requirement (as of mid-March), you can be sure that no one's testing for it.

All you Canadian hopheads can breathe (inhale?) a little easier.

Dropped? REALLY? Check out ad for positions at Chosun University just posted 6/26.

Further, their ad contains a number of errors. It states:

	  | Quote: |
	  | g) Health check: Including recent TBPE (a.k.a. Cannabis) test and HIV test from designated Korean facility or international facility. [Required of successful candidates by Immigration Service for visa issuance.] | Once again, the definitive word on the cannabis testfrom the Immigration news release and from their posted regulations in English AND Koreanis that the cannabis test is no longer required.TBPE test is NOT "a.k.a. Cannabis." It is a test for various illicit drugs (primarily narcotics AFAIK). It may or may not detect cannabis. I suspect not, however, since Immi previously required a separate cannabinoid test (now dropped) IN ADDITION TO the TBPE test (which is still required). The health check cannot be obtained from an "international facility." It must be obtained at a Korean hospital (government hospital, public hospital, or general hospital) AFTER arrival in Korea on the E-2 visa. The health check is not required for visa issuance; it is required after arrival in Korea for alien registration.

				| Ok, so everything is finished now and here is my story.
the hospital we went to had the cannabinoid test on their forms. I showed the lady at the front desk the paper i printed off from the immigration website. She called immi, confirmed it was removed, and sent me in for my tests.

Just got my arc card on friday.

				| Don't think so, but you should remind them that the cannabis test is no longer required by immigration. You might want to show them a printout of the immigration webpage which indicates this... | |

Hospitals have a standard report for the "recruitment health exam" (채용신체검사서), that's all Immi wants.

It goes without saying that if your school has a form they want you to use, use that.

				| BOROMAE Hospital
 Near Boromae subway station...

They do medical checks for 55,000 won. I just had one done recently and it took like 15 minutes. Easy as anything.

 Good luck.
