Calgary! Are you kidding? We have a city like that in the states. It's called Denver, and it sucks. Yeah, I know I'm in Dallas for the next few weeks, and Calgary is 100 times better than Dallas, but I would opt for Vancouver if I had to chose one Canadian city. Calgary is just where you end up if you can't hack it in Banff.

This is by no way an anti Canada post, I just don't see how Calgary is all that great.

Oh wait, aren't Tarrence and Phillip from there? Smile

I live in Calgary and as bad as most of you are making it out to be it is a whole hell of a lot better than Pusan or any other place in Korea.

calgary - grey, dull, ugly city. full of arrogant dinks who think "hey, look at all the money we have! capitalism must be the only way!" but don't know that the alberta advantage is a burstable bubble.

obscenely cold in the winter. housing prices going up because so many people in canada are thinking "hey, we'll just live there for a couple of years, then sell our house at a massive profit and come back to ______ (insert name of liveable canadian locale)" when they don't realize that EVERYONE is doing that and when everyone leaves nobody's going to buy their fucking house.

i'd take pohang over calgary in a heartbeat.

What about Halifax? It is near numerous beaches, the local music scene is probably the best in Canada and there are 5 universities within 2 hours of the city. It is a young, vibrant city with alot of character.

If Haliwood has one downfall, it is the pityful winters.
