I'm disappointed the word "jailbait" hasn't come up in this thread yet.

(oh right, stupid no images rule.

Anyone know the difference between an underage girl and a laundry machine?

By the way, his username is not Yi_Bum_suk, but Yu_Bum_suk. Ha ha, get it? There was another poster named "Pak Yu man."

Ah.. oops, my bad. Sorry about that! I can't believe I went and made assumptions again. I'm just used to the name 이범석 more.. Razz

I can give input, sure, but I'm not sure how useful they'll be. I've far from any real experience in this world, stuff I'm going to say will probably sound, I dunno. childish. one-sided. naive..

But if you want to get into Korea or Yonsei U. surely you'll have to take the suneung (수학능 력시험) in November, won't you? I've had students who tried - and failed Sad - who had to.

That's the beauty of early applications Smile I apply for it in a week, take my interviews in a month, and get notice of acceptance by the end of August. No 수능 for me, hopefully!

수시 1 and 수시 2 are my available options, I might have to take 수능 for some of the 수시2 schools, but that's going to be easy enough. I just need two Level 2s (level 2=top 11%) which is easy 'nuff Wink

I didn't know you could get into those ones with the early applications. If you don't, another uni you might want to look at is Kyunghee. They have a lot of international studies stuff and international students. One of my former students is going there and really finding it interesting, though in her words the exams aren't nice because 'the professors don't tell us the answers to all the exam questions like in high school'.

If you dump a load in a laundry machine, it doesn't follow you around for a month.

Hello wolves. I'm a plump tender rabbit. I'm really interested in wolves and what they think. Would it bother any of you if I went into your kitchen and hung around there?

Very possible. Yonsei and Korea are pretty damn good schools for 수시1 as well! Cool
Kyunghee is a school I'm planning to apply to during 수시2 in September. I'd actually like to do 한의학(er.. oriental medicine?) if I apply there. Best school for that in all of Korea! ^_^
My school teachers never tell me the answers.. Or they might, I just don't listen to class much anymore ~_~

Right: background about me.
I'm a girl. I live in Seoul. I'm 19 years old in "Korean age" and 2 months shy of being 18 in "normal" age.. which makes me a senior in high school. I plan on becoming a uni student by the end of August though Wink I lived abroad, came back to Korea about 6 years and 10 days ago, and have since attended totally normal, Korean secondary schools. no foreign language high school or international schools of any kind.

I love meeting and talking to people, I'm open about any topic, I can be a bit shy but am good at hiding it after a few initial stutters (no giggling though!).

Sadly, I've only a few (I can count them on my one hand) 외국인 friends I can talk to, and by friends I mean people 6-12 years older than I. Some I've met personally after meeting on the internet, some we still maintain internet or text friendships..

I'd love to go out there and TALK to random people though. But being a student, I don't have access to bars of any kind, which I know is a good place to talk to people to. Also, the schoolgirl thing means that people treat me like one, when I'd like to be able to talk to them about things other than "so, how was school?" "so-so. how do you like Korea so far?"

So.. just a-wonderin', do you find it weird if a random girl comes up to talk to you on the subway, in the bookstore or on the streets? No giggling, to covering mouths, no speaking to "improve my english for college", I swear!

Hi amilin90. I'm sure you can understand the uncertainty over whether you're a Korean teenage girl or some idiot white guy. Perhaps you could simply translate what you wrote above into Korean to save us all the bother of wondering if a lonely 17-year-old Korean girl would actually post on Dave's of all places.

BTW, as someone who already spends half his waking hours surrounded by Korean teenage girls and half his drinking hours surrounded by idiot white guys I hope you'll understand if I'm not hugely desperate to add yet another one of either to the list of people I really want to spend time with.

Not sure if I should really do this or not.. You a teacher, Mr. Yi Bum Suk?
err.. here I go anyway, if only to shut a few of the people up. Picture, I wont do. it's too fakeable anyhow.. and I don't want to go thru the trouble of changing into my uniform at 11:30pm after a rather humid grumpy day.
Here goes:
Right.. I did it..
