Hi everyone.

I'm just writing to let you all know that if you're considering taking a dog or cat home with you, there is an excellent vet in Seoul that I would highly recommend.

I have lived in a couple of different places in Korea and have dealt with many different veterinarians in the long and complex process of importing my dog to New Zealand. Many veterinarians will say that they are familiar with the process of preparing an animal for export, but in actual fact, they are not. I myself, have nearly been caught out by misinformation. Because there are certain processes that must be followed precisely (i.e. the correct rabies vaccination), and because there are so many chances for errors to be made (i.e. serial numbers on vaccinations must be checked in case of fraudulent copies), I would highly recommend that before you begin ANY preparation and your pet receives ANY vaccinations, that you contact Dr Jung from Seoul National University.

These are his contact details:
Dr Jung Woosung / 정우성
Email: [email protected] / [email protected]
Phone: 019-578-5344
He has two clinics:
Monday to Friday (09:00-17:00): at Seoul National University, Seoul.
Saturday: at Songpawon animal hospital in Jamsil, Seoul.

It is particularly critical that you follow the correct procedure for exporting your pets to New Zealand or Australia, but even if you are taking your pet to Canada, the US or another country that you can easily export an animal to, Dr Jung may still be able to provide you with valuable advice.

Dr Jung has told me that in his experience, many people want to take their animals home with them, but because of mistakes and ill-advisement, too often they cannot. I would highly recommend him. Please let me know if you want any more information.

Cheers,
cb.

Thanks for the info. I'd recommend changing the title to "Excellent Vet Near Gangnam" for better views, and to avoid the "don't get a dog unless you keep it for life" and "it sounds delicious" responses.
