I've heard you can buy western-sized bras in Itaewon -- can anyone tell me specifically where? I'm looking for a 34/36D, and I'm getting awfully tired of ajummas laughing at me in regular stores! Appreciate any help. |

Yeah, I'm kind of braced for "funny" misogyny. It'll be worth it not to have to order from North America, though. |

I think the store's name is Venus, it's fairly near the station, but as I recall, it was much cheaper to order from Vickies. |

You're better off ordering online. Even if a store in Korea has your size, the selection and variety won't be there. |

What do bigger and taller Koreans do? Order things online.
OP, having a Korean friend to help you order online would help you a great deal with any clothing problems.
BTW- All of us have to deal with this for something. If anyone does find a good shop, please post the info for others. |

She even has a location at Hongdae where you can try stuff on before you buy.
I bought fantastic and decent looking nursing bras there, but she's got everything. She specializes in post-augmentation Korean women, but the english speaking owner is very happy to help the foreign ladies. She likes the word of mouth that happy foreign women give.
Cheers! |

Why would you expect misogyny? Most guys like a big rack.
**Misogyny alert**: Is a big rack all you've got? |

Sorry to say, but you're probably not going to have much luck, and if you do find something, you won't have a vast selection at all.
The number of times I got laughed out of a store, and had ajummas actually try to feel my 36 DD's was insane. My Korean friend came with me once to go on a bra hunt, and told off a lady who heard my size then tried to feel me up. It was great fun.
If you're serious about it, and can wait a week or two, Victoria's secret is the way to go. They deliver to Korea, and you will have a much better selection to choose from for sure. That's where I got my swimsuits when I was there as well. |

If you really need to try stuff on, go to Lora's location in Hongdae. I found attractive black lace western-size D cup nursing bras there. She has a huge selection to try on, and will order for you. It takes a month for things to come in and the shipping costs are really low as she orders in bulk.
Just call the telephone number on the korean site and ask for an english speaker. You'll get the owner.
If you know your size inside and out, go for vickies. If you need to try (as being a nursing mom, my bra size (band and cup) changed at least three times in the last year.
Good luck. |

Thanks for the help! I really appreciate the advice; I lost a little weight (from the kimchi) and suddenly none of my bras fit! It's a big relief to be able to go get something stopgap in person, and then online order everything else.

A lot of people on this board don't seem to realize that liking women and liking women's body parts aren't quite the same thing. |

Kinda glad I didn't try looking for bras now that I hear salesladies like feeling you up and laughing in your face when they hear your size. This is why I'm taking my entire lingerie collection with me. My breasts just cannot take that gamble! I also heard Korean women don't wear thongs so those I am taking too to avoid the sausage butt. My butt will thank me later...
While I was there, I was disappointed to find that the selection compared to New York wasn't as good. I just shopped to see if they had something for me. If you're an American size 2, 34A/B, XS, are a size 5/6/7 shoe, 5'4 & under and like clothing with bad English writing all over it or ruffly, loose/frumpy looking shirts, then Korea is the place for you! Otherwise, bring everything you own! I loved a couple of dresses but they seemed to be narrow enough on top for a prepubescent girl so I had to pass on them. Trying on shoes was one disappointment after another. At least my shopaholic tendencies will be stifled in Korea. |
