In the face of rising gas prices more and more people are turning to bicycles as their preferred mode of transportation. But statistics show that over one in 10 people injured in traffic accidents last year were bike riders.
According to the Korea Center for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 1,600 people or 13.7 percent of people sent to the emergency room because of a traffic accident were from bicycle accidents. Of those who died, people over the age of 60 represented almost 60 percent of the total.
In light of the recent showings the center along with the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine announced a number of bicycle safety rules for the public to follow. |

The cultural equivalent would be to hold up a closed fist with your thumb pointing up between your ring finger and middle finger.
It looks like you're playing "i got your nose", but it won't be taken that way. |
