I would recommend getting some help from a Korean for all the paperwork.

One thing to consider is having a parking space. The first 10 months I did not have a parking spot with my apartment and I got at least one parking ticket a month (40,000 or 50,000).

Pee,

There are a slew of ways to buy cars in Korea.....'kyocharo,' internet ads, dealers, friends.... First (assuming your Korean reading ability is decent) pick up the free adverts that post autos for sale....that'll give you an idea of what's going and at what price.....

Then, as mentioned, solicite (sp? sorry, me teacher) a Korean's aid in finding a car.

Regs....buy the car, and then (most likely) head to two separate offices... one to register your car, then the second tagging your car (or is that motorcycle...sorry, had 4 bikes and 3 cars...the memories blur....)

Insurance? Butt easy. Just take the above legal docs. and proper license and voila! (ofcourse, take a national).

Shoosh,

Ryst

The easiest way is to go to a used car dealer. They will do all the paperwork.

Insurance is easy: Get a letter from your car insurance agent back home stating your insurance history (how long, how many claims and for what) and take it to any car insurance office.

I didnt even need that for my insurance. They just made it on the stop when I bought the car, then I paid for 1 full year right away. Was 650,000 for the year.
