If I get my CBC today in the mail I can only go to Seoul on Thursday's to get it notarized as I work splits every other day. Is it feasible to leave Busan on the KTX at 5am get to seoul at 8, the embassy by 8:30 and out by 10 at the latest? From there get a train for Busan by 10:40 and be back for 2pm?

This is what I might attempt to do tomorrow if I get it. Any thoughts?

Have you tried contacting the American Presence Post Busan to see if they can notarize it, or even courier it to Seoul for you?

It's feasible but I wouldn't bank on it.

If you end up waiting too long in the embassy, you have to return to Busan having achieved nothing. Therefore you will have wasted 100K on the KTX. You're basically risking 100K on the off chance that some fat, lazy, pen-pushing, desk-jockey will be willing to take the donuts out of his mouth long enough help you.

Sorry. I've had a couple of experiences in embassies that have caused me to lose faith in them. If you're seriously in the sh!t, they'll do their job...... grudgingly. But when it comes to day-to-day stuff, they honestly seem to think that they're over here (or wherever they are) on some sor of part-time working holiday.

If I were you, I'd wait til I had time off.

What time does the embassy open? Would it be an option to go up there the night before, stay in a JJB, and go to the embassy first thing in the morning?

have you talked to someone sensible at your school? maybe they'd be willing to give you a lil leeway since, after all, you're doing this essentially for them...
maybe you could even get them to pay for the ktx Very Happy
