I vote tourist or military, since we are labeling and prejudging people. |

I find it a bit amusing that the original post criticizing the graffiti artist's English ability has egregious erros. |

Yeah, me too. Sadder even than your typo, which is after all just a typo, not a fundamental misapprehension of the grammar involved in what we have to assume is a native speaker's critique of what we can otherwise accept as an error made by a Korean who is as clear on his priorities as he is unclear on his spelling.
Still and all, it's tacky, what you tried to do. The point of these kinds of sad mistakes involving who/whom is to allow those of us who know the difference a quiet chuckle to ourselves. Trying to prove to one and all that you are a superior sort who can ID the pretenders is really just a sad sort of cunty game of gotcha, and is a bit dangerous when one misspells a word oneself. Perhaps you should just let the game go and let people be stupid without having to pull their pants down in front of the classroom.
Or not. Do what you will. Just be more careful when you do it. An internet forum isn't, after all, a master's thesis. Try to get over yourself. It'll be hard, I know, but do try. If not for your sake, then for ours. |

The word whom:
Quote: |
Whom is an object pronoun, while who is a subject pronoun. One would never use whom as the subject of a verb. One method to use to determine correctness of who vs. whom is to rephrase the sentence to eliminate who or whom in favor of he, him, she, her, they or them. If you would have used he, she, or they, in place of the word, then who is the correct word; if you would have used him, her, or them, then whom is the correct word.
This also applies for whoever and whomever, in which if you would replace that word with 'he' or 'she', then 'who' or 'whoever' is the correct word; if you would use 'him' or 'her' instead, then 'whom' or 'whomever' is correct. |
In this thread you could rephrase the title as 'he wrote/drew this' so you have to say whoever. |

Happens all the time; whom is dying. Here's no less than the Washington Post right now:

Activists Pursue the Felon Vote
Organizers are trying to register newly eligible former offenders, who the candidates ignore. |
That should also be whom (the candidates ignore them). |
