As I was walking out of my hagwon today, my director gave me an envelope of Christmas bonus cash: 250,000 won and told me not to tell the Korean teachers. I am still shocked.

Well good for you.

It's curious that he didn't give it to the Korean teachers. Did you get a Chusok/Sul-nal bonus?

Anyhow have fun with your cash.

Right, maybe he gives them a bonus then and tells them not to tell me, but I doubt it. On Chusok we all got tootpaste.

I was so shocked because he is usually a big scrooge...we have a 10 year old broom and still using a set of pencils from 6 months ago which are down to the nubs.

I'm even more shocked considering what a slacker I am. I certainly don't deserve a bonus, but hey! Thanks, boss! I guess he's happy tht the kids like me and enrollment has gone up in the 6 months I've been there.

In the mind of the wonjangnim that's all that matters, isn't it?

Merry Christmas!

Perhaps, the Korean teachers received more.

900%? It sounds to me that it's more like 90%
Have him tell you the % number in Korean.

900% Shocked

Imagine the damage I could do with a bonus like that! The possibilities are endless. My bonus is nothing in comparison to that.

Is this real? Could it be real? Confused
