|

I have a pair of high end earplug earbuds I brought over from the US for my MP3.
apparently on my trip back from vacation I lost one of the endpieces.. the rubber part that "fits" in your ear.
kind of like pictured here
http://www.proporta.com/F03/i/replacement_earbuds_1.jpg
is there anywhere in Korea (Yongsan???) where I may be able to buy this little piece of rubber?
(or rubber like material, whatever it is)
in the worst case scenario.. can you recommend a kick ass set of earplug headphones to buy?
the ones I have now are satisfactory and quality is high but volume is a bit LOW.
sometimes I like kicking it up to "11". know what I mean? |

One place to try is Yongsan station's electronics market. The one that's in the new building right at the station. On the 2nd or 3rd floor I think, near the side of the floor, they have a nice headphone place. |

As long as we're on the topic...
I'll be looking for a quality (but under $100) set of the kind that plug into your ears if I get an mp3 player. Anyone have suggestions? |

you will just have to look around, i found them in a 1000won shop in gwangju, hate when it happens, you will find them if you look hard enough
as for cheap good headphones, you need to know your specs, what all numbers are, then read the back of the packets or read online.
as for ones around 20k, phillips in ear ones from emart were good sound |

Be careful when buying higher-end earphones if you want a neutral hi-mid-bass sound. Many manufacturers are designing non-neutral earphones.
I bought V-Moda Vibes online for 80,000. They are pretty good quality, but I didn't realize that they were tuned for "vibrant" bass. It was way too thumping for my ears. Luckily, my MP3 player has a good EQ section so I was able to tune out the excessive bass and get a really good sound.
It's bliss to not have to suffer the traffic noise and chattering schoolkids on my daily commute. The in-ear phones are really worth it for that alone. |

Yeah, I would want something smaller than my full headset for an mp3 player and the in-ear is the only small kind that has any significant passive dampening which is quite handy. |

That store at Yongsan station lets you try the in-ear ones too. Lots of good ones there. |

Eww. Take some antimicrobial wipes or gel with you. I don't want your ear goobers and I bet you don't want mine.
But, I'll second, third, fourth, or whateverth the earphone shop at Yongsan. |

Got them here. Gmarket or whatever.
They're VERY loud. I like it loud myself. My previous set of cheapies just couldn't give me what I wanted even with the volume at 100% and the EQ all bumped up. These Vibes allow me to keep the volume at 50% and not hear anything but my MP3. |

If you can be bothered, take a trip to Yongsan and go to the 5th floor of the electronics market. There's a shop along the wall called The Headphone Shop.
Here's their site: http://www.headphoneshop.co.kr/
They've got a good spread. |

I bought some Shure E2c and I love them. They do wrap around the ear which I found annoying at first, but now I have no problems.

I have those exact earphones - in fact I have a few extra of those "rubber things" - because when I bought it - it came with three different rubber sizes - to fit your ears - depending if your ears are small, medium or large..
I bought it at E-mart for 20,000won |
