I have lived in numberous places in Korea. None have ever asked me for my passport number, or my ARC number. Only for the rent. If it were the law, I surely would have encountered it by now. |

And you're doing it again; making a presumption based on your personal experience and assuming that because it happened to you it must be true for everyone else.
This is the second time you've done this. I'm keeping count. |

Did you sign contracts where your school sponsored the housing? If so then the school would be responsible. Or the other case scenario is if the school helps you get it, then they'd have that information already+.
I never heard of anyone anywhere in any country who just let you move into their apartment signing leases and everything and having absolutely no clue who you are or any information about you whatsoever on any level. |

I was talking about rental agreements. If the school does one or your Korean friend hooks you up, THEY are using their KSSN. My friends rented a place and had to provide their passport numbers on the agreement. They also used key money. The rental agreement is probably a much stronger contract than your employment contract. When we rented our last place, my wife had to use her KSSN. It is on the legal document.
If you are just paying rent and have no contract, you also have no rights. The person can kick you out of the place at any time. That contract gives you the right to stay there for a year and makes it very hard for the landlord to a) boot you out b) come into your house without permission. |

No, I am asking for more information. And I am entitled to express my personal experience as a means of showing that I know what I am talking about.
Is your life so boring that you have nothing better to do, than "keeping count" of some people's posts? Apparently it would seem so. "This is the second time you've done this."
I'm flattered, I didn't realize I had my own Boswell. I would suggest though, you need to get a life and stop taking things people say on this board so seriously.
My personal experience? Both Moldy R. and the GWOW have had experiences like mine. Better check yourself there pal. |

Your logic is flawed. There's nothing else to say on the matter because I don't understand you.
Thanks for the insult. |

What flaw? I simply pointed out that you sound like a internet stalker. "I'm keeping count." Then I pointed out two other posters agreed with me. That's why you are keeping quiet, because you know you've lost the argument. Thanks for coming out.
BTW it wasn't an insult, it was a serious suggestion. |
