The V-Tour, formerly known as the Korean Super Volleyball League, kicks off this Saturday, December 20th. It's a semi-professional league with both mens and womens teams.

The tour will hit each of the included cities for one week, as well as Seoul for the first week (despite Seoul not being home to any team).

So far all I can find is that the V-Tour is in Seoul from December 20-25. I can't for the life of me find where the tour goes after that.... some help, anyone? Can't find a website for the V-Tour, either....

The league's first match, between Samsung Insurance (Busan) vs. LG Insurance (Gumi), will be live on KBS1 on Saturday (Dec 20) at 3:00pm.

Anyway, cities with clubs are:

Busan:
-Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance (M)
-Hungkuk Life Insurance (W)

Gumi:
-LG Insurance (M)
-Korea Highway Corporation (W)

Mokpo:
-Korea Electric Power Corporation (M)
-Hyundai Engineering & Construction (W)

Daejeon:
-Hyundai Capital (M)
-KT&G (W)

Incheon:
-Korean Airline (M)
-LG Caltex Oil (W)

Sangmu, the army teams, don't have a home.

Here's an article from the Korea Times:

Busan beat Gumi earlier today... assssaaaa!

The rest of Busan's sports teams are arse, so it's nice to be a "glory hunter" for a change... Wink Laughing

I looked up "Mijeong" in a dictionary... it says "suspence".

I reckon it means "to be announced".... place as yet undecided.

Actually it makes sense to put a team in a smaller city.... when you're the only game in town, you have a monopoly on all the sports fans.

I agree with this. look at the Changwon LG Sakers.
Basically KBL attendances are pretty shocking except in Wonju, Changwon and Jeonju. The reason is it is the only game in town. I love watching the Sakers as it is often a full house and the atmosphere is good.
Occasionally I'll follow the team to Daegu, Busan or Ulsan. Saw them in Busan about 3 weeks ago out at Nopo-dong. It was a disgrace. The 3000 seat stadium had about 500 people. I was thinking you put a pro basketball team in Busan and you stick it all the way out here. What marketing guru come up with that?????

Go LG

Busan is infamous for small sports crowds. Average crowd at Busan I'cons this past season was 3,000.... at a 60,000-capacity stadium. People just can't be arsed for some reason.

Funny that you said the Busan basketball team play out of Nopo-dong... I thought they played in the stadium at Sajik-dong, where all the other pro sports clubs played. I am to go to at least one basketball and volleyball game while I'm here.... what else is there to do during the football off-season? Wink

I think the problem with sports in this country uis the marketing strategies.
Nobody has a clue what is where is when unless you really look for it. Like you said about the basketball in Busan. Where the heck is the stadium???
