So does anyone know the Japanese karaoke bar that is to the left of Hollyowood's. It is down stairs and it is covered in pink from head to toe.

Well I went there last night and when I walk in I tell the lady 3 and she runs to this other Korean lady who comes over to me and asks if I am russian. I say no, I am american. Then she proceeds to tell me that I can't afford it here, its is very expensive. At this point my 2 friends just walk upstairs and I am thinking to myself I am getting refused service at a bar covered in pink from head to toe where there are whities all around and 2 k-girls singing at the top of there lungs in Korean. Wow, so I turn around to walk out and the lady goes and sits down in the booth and I am like no, I am going to say something to this biotch. So I walk over to her and she is next to this big table of foreign guys. And I was pissed so I couldn't come up with anything good to say, but I sad "suck my c*ck you f-ing whorebag. And then all the foreigners start hooting a little and then i flick her off on my way up the stairs.

Its actually really funny looking back b/c I got refused service at a pink bar, only in Korea!

I guess the pink bar was to expensive for me, ha!

Covered in pink? Does that mean it's a gay noraebong?

You do know that SOME noraebongs have "ladies" available to, AHEM, sing (yeah, that's the ticket) with male clients. Maybe it was THAT kind of place. They only want male clients.

No, I don't have a c*ck, i am female . I told you I was so mad b/c the lady kept saying russians are poor, you can't afford and I couldn't think of anything else to say.

The thing is I dress really nice compared to other foreigners b/c I brought 6 80 pound boxes over and space bagged all of my clothes so it wasn't like I looked like a cheap wh*re, although..... hehe, just kidding. I didn't.

No it was a place that does Japanese Karaoke. Where there is a small stage and everybody can watch.

To the left of Hollywoods and Crazee Burgers( or something like that)

It seems like you were in Itaewon and ended up not in a regular run-of-the-mill noraebang but a paid-Korean-girls-do-naughty-things-with-male-customers noraebang hence the first question whether you're Russian or not. The lady saw a Caucasian woman and probably initially thought you were on the job (not a nice assumption at all and not doubt it's very unpleasant but given the place you enter and the area you were in, it's fairly understandable).

When you replied, she realized you're just a regular female customer who's unwittingly walking into the wrong place and didn't want to break it to you that this is a place when men get their rocks off with Korean girls. It's seems they don't seem so keen on girl-on-girl action, and probably won't be for a while after your response.
Razz

Either way you look at it, you avoided a potentially awkward experience or potential fulfilling experience. Those foreign dudes should have set you straight but were probably too embarrassed to admit to you that they were whoremongering.

Don't let it get you down or angry just chalk it up as another weird Korean experience and something funny to tell you friends about back home.

Then again I could be wrong, but that's my first assumption.

Given your response it seems I was wrong and the owner was a rude, racist, sexist cow. Don't let it get you down. Publish the name and location of the place so others can boycott it. Places like that in Itaewon won't last long if they discriminate against foreigners unnecessarily. Chalk it down to just another random arsehole stealing Oxygen in this planet.

Most businesses reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

Just as individuals have the right to protest that refusal of service if it's based on racist or sexist grounds.

It would be good to have more information. Where the two friends who were allowed in female or male? If they were Western females, then the lady was thinking Nole girl was Russian and didn't want a Russian lady in there. She assumed somehow that Nole is Russian. Some Russians are lighter than many Americans. If the friends were males, then it could be a hostess type bar that's expensive, where they don't females entering and that the Korean women are there to entertain the male patrons and the drinks are a little pricey i.e. that would be a juicy bar or a hostess bar. Until we have more info, I am not sure what to make of what kind of place it was..... I remember Helios supposedly had a sign some months ago that said Africans were barred from the club after some problems.

I only got turned away from one place, and it was when some friends of mine and this Korean girl were looking for a noraebang in Itaewon, and we were going into this place to check it out, and they told us not to come in, because there was a Japanese party. We weren't really interested in that place, we were just trying to hunt down a party. We weren't upset, because we understand a party for some Japanese was being held.
It wasn't really prejudice in that case.

As far as assuming someone is Russian, Koreans often do that to many women especially if a woman is very light, I think. Many Russian females who are not street workers will say they are from another European country to avoid being bothered by some males. Of course, Russians are mixed.

I was once asked for I.D. at Gecko's for some reason. I guess they wanted to make sure I wasn't a soldier trying to drink illegaly.

Exactly. As an American and not a (Russian looking for a job), nolegirl would've presented the establishment with the one thing they didn't want: competition for the attention of the western men in the bar.

Yeah, you dress better than everyone else. WTF?

You are really not a smart person, sorry to say. If you admit that fact, I'll never bring it up again and we can go our respective ways.
