Is it possible to rent a vehicle (i.e. car or SUV) in Korea?

You'll either need a Korean DL or international DL. If you have a Korean DL, you'll need to have it for at least 1 year.

Then you can walk into any Kumho Rent-a-car, Avis Rent-a-car, or some private rent a car and rent a car...

Go with a smaller company. We got a mini-van for 100 a day. They didn't even look at my International Driving Permit.

I'd like the weekend motorcycle too. I like how in Thailand you can just rent these small 125 cc motorcycles and go cruising any time you want. The only place I didn't see this was in Bangkok due to the traffic being too much for inexperienced foreigners. I cruised the islands and all over Thailand, except Bangkok on these bikes for only $5 a day.

I want to cruise, hike, and fish Korea, but am stuck with the severe limitations of walking and waiting for buses that I know little about their schedules and routes. Maybe I just need to buy something....

Does anyone know the names of these rental places or more specifics on where they are located (i.e. street addresses)?
