The first year I worked in this after school program was pretty nice. Things are going downhill. Management puts in minimal effort, which is generally a lot better than micro management but has now become a nightmare.
The problem is I've recently found that although health insurance has been deducted from my salary for the last 11 months, it has not been paid. I haven't had insurance for a while, so the total now owed is more than 700k won. Like I said, I have the payslips stating I've paid my half of 43k/month for all of that time.
In addition, pension has never been paid for the year and a half I've worked there. Some in my company said that because we don't technically work for the company, but for the school itself, that we aren't due a pension. I have a hard time believing this.
This is all coming to a head now because our company is being sold.
I've tried to reason with my company, but it looks like they're going to try to get out of this without being fair.
Advice? |

Go to the pension office and file a complaint.
Go to the health office and file a complaint.
Before doing the above, tell your employer that you will be doing this. Maybe they'll offer something that you can agree to.
They stole from you. Make sure that you look your boss, whoever works for the outfit that hired you, at their office, and tell them that you know that they didn't pay and that they are stealing from you. And fkg yell at them. |

Thanks for what you said.
Surprisingly, about 10 mins after posting I got an email that stated they had capitulated. Earlier today in an email I had threatened to do exeactly what you said, though I wasn't sure of the exact process.
Seems it worked out...at least this time. |

Yeah, their backs are against the wall on this one.
So you didn't pay into pension the whole time you were there? Meaning they didn't deduct it from your paychecks? Or did they deduct it from you pay without remitting it to the pension office? I'll be surprised if they follow through with the pension. Or are you just talking about getting your money back for what you paid into health insurance? |

Yeah, pension was never deducted from my pay. I too will be pleasantly surprised if I do end up getting it. They did say in yesterday's email they'll be paying their half, though. They could just be trying to buy some time to disappear, but at least having their word now is a little better than before.
The insurance part will be taken care of because the new company refuses to inherit the 700k debt. They're a large company and seem to do things by the book. |
