If you didn't see them, you missed out.

The best band I've seen live.

Late 80's, early 90's.

2 or 3 times, I really can't remember. They're not bad live.

Got to see them only once- with the Chili Peppers in Seoul (2002 or 3?)

I was so freakin' psyched because I had missed out on their previous 2 runs. They were amazing!
Their music is just orgasmic and holds up live with such energy.
Stephen Perkins & Dave Navarro were just monsters on their instruments.
The new guy, Chris, was on bass and he held it down.
Perry Farrell is one of the coolest, most unique frontmen out there. He is just so cocky and cool, but in a way that doesn't come off as arrogant.
He's just cool personified!

Anyway, I go on & on.

Absolutely amazing music and so much energy live.
They will be missed!

Saw their last Canadian show ever on August 7/'91 at Lollapalooza. Superb show despite the crappy venue.

Had a chance to see them on their 'Relapse' tour, but chose not to go. They were touring with that arsehole Flea and were all off drugs. I'm rabidly antidrug, except when it comes to rock musicians. Most bands start to suck when they get clean.

I saw them in '90 in Vancouver with Primus and The Pixies.

I saw them in Seoul. They were opening for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The Peppers blew them away. But they weren't bad.

That was an amazing show!

I have to disagree about Jane's being 'blown away', though.

Jane's played with such energy- they were on fire, en fuego, and more.

The Chilis were great, but you could tell they were kind of tired. They had to do a lot of traveling to get here.

It was my first time seeing them and with the Chilis you expect them to be at 11, but they were more like on 8.

Still a great show all around!

I saw the Peppers 2 years ago and was not impressed. Zero energy and a one note singer was the equivalent of teaching on a Saturday afternoon. Miserable. Confused

Saw the Peppers in '92 when Arik Marshall was playing with them; brutal. Kiedis was so off-key, it wasn't funny. On top of that, Flea couldn't stop putting his foot in his mouth making anti-Canadian statements, ...er... jokes. The crowd slowly dwindled away from about 40,000 to less than half after about 4 songs into their set. The line-up of people leaving was something to see.

They had so much reverb on the vocals to cover up the lousy pitch problems, but to no avail.

Peppers/Fishbone circa 85ish I don't remember maybe 87. Both of them sucked. I got in the club for free whenever I wanted so it was something to do that night. Come to think of it I saw a lot of bands that sucked for free. It's hard to play a good show when just a couple of nights ago The Exploited played in the same place. There was still blood on the floor.

They recently announced Kidzapalooza. I didn't realize that Perry Farrell and his Hong Kong wife Etty Lau have three kids now - Hezron Wolfgang, Izzadore Bravo, and Yobel.

Flea w/wife or GF and a couple of others from RHCPeps came to the Great Greek restaurant on Ventura Blvd and I waited on them back in 1990. That was a lot of fun. Good times. He was drunk, but he was cool.

I saw Nirvana in Grenoble, France, 3 weeks before he blew his brains out. The thing, the venue was like watching a band in a high school auditorium. You're allowed to bring your own beer in French concerts, and the French sit in the back. So I was like 10 feet from Cobain. I've seen the Who, the Clash, Clapton, X, Madness and some others (some of these when I was *very* young). I hear Springsteen is great.

But nothing compares to that Nirvana show. Grohl was amazing. And the bassist (his name escapes me) threw his bass in the air, it hit him in the head and he nearly passed out. But then he comes out and starts chugging champagne to "Rape me".

It wasn't just the show. It was what happened after the show. Kind of devastating.
