Don't get an Audigy for creating music... get a real pro audio card by Echo (such as the Mia) or by M-Audio if you can afford it, otherwise your setting yourself up to have to get one down the road anyways... having balanced input among other things is important in getting the best sound, as well as low realtime latency.
This comes after many hours spent researching the subject...
