This article cracks me up. It's funny how many times the Japanese are mentioned.

It's interesting to note that it is not only the Japanese who say he does not have enough at bats to qualify. MLB says the same thing.
Below is the OPS stats directly from MLB.com. You will note that CHoo's name is absent and that at the top, it states: "Batting Average Leaders - must have a minimum of 3.1 plate appearances per team." I'm sure this applies for all batting stats and that is why his name is not on the list.
