Do Koreans blush?

My director always introduces me to random people (mostly women since they dominate the education profession here) and then will say, "oh, isn't he so handsome?" (Personally, I'm gonna go with average...) Everytime she says this, I invariably kinda lower my head and blush... I think she gets a kick out of seeing me blush...

Anyway, do Korean blush? Anyone ever seen this phenomenon?

Yes. I have made my husband blush.

He's fairer-skinned than a lot of Koreans though, so maybe it's harder to see on the darker-toned ones?

Yeah, you can see those big fat cheeks flare up like lush tomatoes on some of the girls.

That's true, I've seen Koreans turn red from booze... but it's kinda different than from blushing out of shyness...

I think their blushes are most visible in the ears.

Actually, it's kinda of scary how fast and how effective Koreans type on a cell phone... I saw a girl one time that could have typed the Korean constitution in less than 2 minutes on that phone...

i love watching koreans on their handphones on the train. in any given 10 people, about 8 of them will have their phones out. half of these will be typing furiously, or just idly cruising through the menus doin God-knows what!

I haven't noticed blushes. When embarrassed, feeling silly, or charmed, they can't help but pull out a ridiculous smile, giggle, or raise their hands to cover their mouths. Reminds me that somewhere under the confucian armor is a fun-loving, hilarious, gentle, human being!!! Laughing
