If you try to buy it and the price mysteriously rises by 100,000 won (happened to me when I bought a DSLR) or "oh, we are sold out at that special price."
Of course, many times the advertised price is what it says it is. But it's fairly common here for bait and switch, especially if an advertised price is uncommonly low. |

Somewhat misleading if that's a weekend sale price.
If there are 1000 scooters for sale for 500,000 won, and two scooters for sale for 350,000 won, its somewhat misleading to say "They are going for 350,000."
HOWEVER, I think anyone who is looking to buy something should do their own research. If I see an ad for something, and Spliff says it can be had cheaper elsewhere, I'm going to check that out, and if it bears fruit, cool. If not, I'll be back. I don't think Spliff much ruins sales as embarasses people who are overcharging. Generally I think people expect too much money for used goods on this forum. They are looking at it in terms of recouping their expenditure, rather than what the item is actually worth, which is why you see people selling 300,000 won computers for 600,000 won sometimes. |

Also, I think many people just don't know how to buy online in Korea. |

i don't think it's misleading to say the scooter is going for 350 000W if you can actually buy it somewhere for that price.
what spliff has a beef with is people who ridiculously over-estimate the value of their used computers, and they are rampant on dave's. computer hardware has probably the highest rate of depreciation of anything in the world! a one year old computer is probably worth about half what it was a year ago, so a USED one year old computer is worth even less than that. |

The lowest prices on Danawa ARE a little bit misleading. For example, you can't purchase a CPU at the lowest price shown on the site. Once you make an order, you will get a call saying either you have to order an entire computer set (RAM, HDD, etc.) or the money would be refunded. Those prices are nothing but baits. Sometimes they put up a really cheap price just to increase site traffic. They would refund the money later saying Danawa made an incorrect listing.
If you want to buy a CPU or RAM I'd suggest you either pay 15-20% more than the lowest prices on Danawa or just visit Yongsan. |

News to me. I buy lowest price items off danawa all the time w/out a hitch. Just last week I bought a lowest price D2 2g (103,000) and it was delivered to my door within 24 hrs, free shipping as well. |

I'm with spliff. I order from danawa and gmarket all the time. Very few problems.
I only have about ONE problem for every 50 transactions and I have never lost my money. The companies cannot bulls**t you about a product. It is what it is (for PC components, anyway). However, they do call sometimes and say the price was posted too low. That's kind of BS.
However, if you don't try to get the strange (only 1 out of 50 vendors!), significantly lower price, you shouldn't have any problems. |

When you say "used scooters are going for 350,000," your object (scooters) represents the entire population of low-end, low-priced scooters. At least that's what most people would assume. So if someone says "Scooters are going for 350,000," I think the value of low-end, low-priced scooters is 350,000, therefore, if I call up a few places, I can be reasonably assured of finding a scooter at or around that price. If two out of 1000 are being sold for 350,000 and the rest are 500,000, then "scooters are going for 350,000" is only true in .5% of the cases. "There are scooters going for as little as 350,000" is absolutely correct, however, because that doesn't imply average value.

if someone can find a scooter for that price, then they are correct in saying that 'you can buy it for 350 000W' because you can, in fact, buy it for that price. |

I bought an entire computer for just 5,000 over the absolute lowest prices listed. I bought top-of-the-line stuff, foreign brands, and had absolutely no problems. Danawa is a great resource, and you CAN get the prices if you try. |

Yeah, Spliff I think you should meet him in person to hash this out.. OR have him tear you a new ass#ole.
Either way, good luck with it.. |
Unless Spliff is a 7' giant why on earth would he want to meet with a guy who regularly bites people and takes chunks out of them? I reckon taking a $15 hit is better than meeting a nut job like that.
Oh and what is his 'life style choice' someone mentioned earlier? If that means being g'ay then that is still no excuse for biting people (unless they like it..)
Elliot: If you're reading this then (1) You're a tool for stealing and (2) You're an even bigger tool because I just read your mind and suddenly you want to bite me because apparantely that's how you roll. So all I have to say is "Bite me, bitch".
Oh and if you made a 'lifestyle choice' that's cool, but man, stop stealing and start being normal whilst living your new 'lifestyle'. Pay Spliff his money like a real man would do and stop being a douchebag. |

Maybe he chose to be a cannibal? That's a lifestyle choice if any.
Biting people is never ok. It's not ok when a 3-y-o kid bites another kid that supposedly stole his favorite toy at the sand box. It certainly wasn't ok when Iron Mike bit Holyfied's ear.
Dude, just cough up the money you owe to Spliff. And get another ID as your reputation is destroyed at Dave's. And remember, no biting outside of the bedroom! A love bite is okay, but only if he/she enjoys it! |
