I understand you can get more storage with the new model, but I kind of like the shape of the older one more.
Can deals be had on the older model? |

I thought you were dead set against that stuff?!?!?! I think I remember a few posts here and there...
I guess it depends on which iPod you are talking about. I have the old iPod touch and love it!! But the new one has volume buttons on the side (old you have to adjust it on screen, a pain in the ass sometimes), and has mic capabilities (skype??). I'm lazy and would pay for a new one just to have the volume buttons.
Like anything i guess....newer models arrive and drive the price down on older models. Haven't looked personally. I'd imagine the shops in Yongsan will lower their prices a bit once the new ones hit Korea. |

Volume buttons on the side would be a major plus... |

Bass, you talking about the Nano? I also kind of like the old design better and was pondering picking one up if the newer models had driven down the the old's price range.
Think I'll check out eBay to see what going rates are... |

Well, a new 4G 8GB nano goes for $149, $145 on eBay. The 3G 8GB models have a range depending on colour. The less popular colours are selling on eBay for under $100, while black and silver are around $120, and pink is up around $140.
I'll just assume you'll be laying down $140 for the pink |

Tried out the new Nanos at the apple store here in Pusan; I have to say I'm not impressed with the wedge design--I still like the heft of the first generation Nanos.
Still, they're running at 180,000 for the 8g model and 240,000 for the 16 gig model.
As for reductions, forget about it; they'll discontinue showing the older models as soon as they get the latest ones. But a 4-gig older nano could be seen at Homever for about 150,000 won. Hardly worth it until it goes down to about 100,000.
The slim ones from last year (2nd gen?) are still about 165,000 and I've heard only bad things about them. |

I just dropped the cash to buy a 2nd gen Ipod touch 16gb. With a nice case I paid 310 bucks. It won't get here for a while cause you can't directly ship to Korea from the US. But I'll post when I get it.
I'm as happy as a little girl! (sprockets)
to previous post: 2nd gen Ipod touch came out Sept. 8, 2008 in the USA. |

Now I'm half tempted to get a shuffle, just for work-outs, but that negates the purpose of me wanting a screen. Plus, I've already got an I-river S10, which is simillar in size to the Shuffle, and does have a screen (although a sucky interface).
Hmm.....
I would like to get a Nano, but more than 99,000 is too much for something that I know will just up and die within probably 1 to 1 1/2 years. That seems to be the life of these things. My wife has gone thru two in under that time and doesn't want me to buy one. |
