One hogwan in Cheonan, where a couple friends work have every Friday off. Seems like a pretty sweet deal to me but I won't be the one to give the name away!

I worked until 7pm Christmas Eve... and I'll be working till 6pm New Years Eve and back in to work at 9:30am on the 2nd...

But I'm also undecided if I have a good director or bad director yet...

Here's the thing:

If New Years Day was on FRIDAY, you would have Sat off (if you work sat)

I've been off for almost 2 weeks and dying of boredom Sad

I worked until 830 christmas eve and tomorrow night too, it will always blow my mind that parents send their kids to hogwans on christmas eve that's rediculous. Im working at 930 on friday too, I hope my owner doesnt think im going to be too productive because I wont be, thinking about not being productive for the last 5 months of my contract actually. Mr. Pink...I think I would be bored too if I had 2 weeks off, but a sandwich day here and there from my boss at christmas or new years wouldnt kill him.

Why not just reserve jan !st as a day off?? or take a sicky?
I haven't had any bother getting days off, so long as i reserve them a month in advance....
Sickies you have to just pull on them on the day.
Seriously, I don't think you're going to be fired for the odd day off work. Its just that you have to take it, not wait for it to be given you, cos it never will.
I have a sick day today, after having a tooth pulled. they wanted me to work, but I just refused, and walked. Cool

This is what gets me: i see everywhere on this board people working for hellish bosses in s**t hagwons. I work for a relatively decent place, that gives sick days and holidays, pays on time, and provides a workable syllabus. Yet most of my co- waeguk- workers have it in for the place because they've never worked anywhere else in korea, and think its a bad school....and they accuse me of being a suckass because I get along with my boss...
After 3 hagwons here, i know what a good school is, and not to abuse it.

I'm an SED employee and I'm pretty happy that I have Thursday and Friday off. I'll finish at 7:20 on Wednesday after coming in at 4:30. The hours are decent.

Sucks that I have to work Saturday though. However it's my last after working 6 months of them.

I get the day off, out of the kindness of my boss' heart. It really makes sense to shut down on Friday to give everyone a four day rest to keep our sanity intact. It's been a long grind between the start of October (when the last holiday was) and Christmas. Everyone needs a well-deserved rest now.

What if you are really sick? I'd let the guy fire me Razz

Actually I'd have him take me to the hospital and waste his time...after that he might think sick days aren't so bad.

I work at a university and everyone teaches 4 days a week. We all get different days off, and I was lucky enough to have had Fridays off this year. Next year my day off will change, but I've got till March to find out which day it will be.
