We're going to Thailand in late November. We are placing an order today for some camping gear to use here in Korea this fall. The outdoor store also sells snorkel stuff. Would it be best to buy from a store in the US or wait and buy the stuff in Thailand? My fins are literally and metaphorical fins at size 14/15 (50). Is this something readily available in Thailand? Are masks so fit-sensitive that we should buy in person?

Cheers,
Crockpot

Crockpot,

I reckon just order online. Better to be safe than sorry.

Or, order the fins and get the mask in thailand

I would get them in Thailand. Korea seems to have this obsession with sticking premium price tags on anything deemed to be sporting goods. One option might be GMarket. I've seen some reasonable buys on there. Koreans are slow in embracing discount stores and such but it is happening albeit not as fast as I would like. I've seen tents priced at 180,000 in Korea that you can pick up in Thailand for about $30.00 US. No joke - same exact tent.
