I've been frantically looking for Korean women's shoes here in my size: 260 or size 9 American size. I went all over Dongdaemun and all the vendors suggested I go to Itaewon. I went to Namdaemun and couldn't find them either. I want cute and stylish Korean women's shoes and the shoes at Itaewon are not Korean and not the style I want.

Is there a store in all of Seoul that sells Korean women's shoes in my size? I've also tried down in the subways to no avail. I found an on-line store called Gmarket that sells some shoes in my size here in Korea but I would rather buy from a vendor than on-line. Can anybody help me? I'm due to receive a package full of shoes from back home but that will take a few weeks and I want them soon. Thanks in advance!

I've been told that the largest size that you will normally find is an equivelant to 8.5 US. Even then, the shoes don't always fit the same way. I have a friend who wears an 8.5, and she tried on several shoes, and only a few of them fit.
Good luck!

Yeah, I can try on two pairs of "250" and have one of them fit a little big and the other one be too small to put my foot in.

Starla, those shoes are uncomfortable anyway. Cheap and horrible.

peppermint, she said she didn't want to buy online and I don't understand why they even sell shoes online. How can you buy shoes without trying them on first? Sure you can send them back but what a pain in the ass. Either you only order a few or you max out your card on fucking shoes trying to find one pair that fits and is comfortable and looks good on you. Need one size up or down on a particular pair, you have to wait for shipping.

Try Rockport in Itaewon. I wear a size 9.5-10 (and 2N as well Sad )and sometimes I can find a pair there. But I usually have to try on every pair they have before I find one that fits.

I get what you're saying, but its one of those sacrifices that you make if you want to live in a foreign country and aren't shaped exactly like the locals. Besides, most Korean online shops have next day delivery at least in the Seoul area, and way better prices.

True. I hate shoe shopping no matter where I am though, and having it online just makes it worse. Usually I can walk into a store, look around for one minute and know there's nothing there for me but I need to SEE the shoes to know!

At least I can fit Korean sizes sometimes.

Try Mook. There is a shop in Itaewon, the police station end, above the Korea Exchange Bank.

I know they do bigger sizes because of all the tourists.. and because it's an international brand. Pricey, though.. so don't go and expect to pay 20K for a pair.. the ones I normally get from there (although my shoes size is 230 or 235, depending on the make) are around 150K a pair.

If you're after those cute korean dressy shoes, even I have trouble with my size 8 feet. Most of the shoes that catch my eye are on the 235 shelf.

It's very sad. I totally understand. *waves fist in the air*

BUT, as some have mentioned, foreign brand names should stock larger sizes, but most of those are sneakers or walking shoes. Also, the cute shoes arn't really that great - especially in terms of quality. Most are synthetic and damn painful to wear in.. some I have never managed to wear in.. Evil or Very Mad .. they also don't last that long.

These days I actually prefer to buy shoes from home. At least they're leather and most are comfortable.

Thanks for the tips ladies! I was under the impression that I might find my size because I found cute and comfortable sandals in Lotte Mart during the summer in my size. They had rubber heels so I could walk in them all day. I totally get the part about the shoes not fitting even if they are my size because I tried some 260's and they were tight. I don't care how long the shoes last because high heels I don't wear often anyway. They're just for going out and looking cute.

But I just got a tip from a Korean girl about a store called Nuzon in Dongdaemun which lets you order shoes in your size and have them custom made for 10,000-60,000 won...you can literally build your own shoe though I'm not sure if they speak English. It's open only in the evening though starting at 8pm and delivery is in about a week or you can pick them up. I'm going to make a trip there maybe tomorrow. I've got some cute skirts and well, I want to go out soon but my flats just don't cut it.

Are you kidding me? You must not know where to look. Yes, shoes in Korea are very cheap...as in price cheap. I've bought good leather, comfortable heels for 12,000 and under. I have a closet full of shoes...all around 10,000 won each. Granted, I'm a 230 so it's easy for me to find shoes. I also bought a pair of boots for 10,000.

Try ewha women's university...lots of beautiful shoes for cheap prices. And I know I've seen 250 because my friend is a 240.

There's at least one shoe store in the 'Won that will custom make boots or shoes too. I don't recall the name, but it's on the same side of the road as the Hamilton, and about halfway between it and the end of the strip. Can't speak for prices, but a friend got gorgeous boots there a few years ago

they have sizes 255-280 for women... i bought two pairs of shoes there last summer for my size 260 feet...

they speak english to foreigners in that store Smile
