Not just a tool, the box you carry them in. This is quoted for posterity. |

Okay, as the above poster said you should go get a checkup and make sure you get a checkup every year. Regarding the pain, my breast specialist/surgeon in Canada told me that if I wanted to minimize the growth of lumps and get rid of the pain completely, then a person needs to stop drinking and eating anything with caffiene - no coffee, no chocolate, no cola or diet cola, etc. Following his advice, hard as it is at times, has made a world of difference. I used to have excruiating pain - like someone touching me with lit matches on the chest, but now it is gone and I never want that again, so will keep following the advice. |

Mammography is not expensive. Most women's health clinics should be equipped to give you the test. Our hospital has a great women's healthcare center with full English service and we can do the test for
10 200 won. (not including consultation fee) |

I got mine done at Dr. Sung's office. She did the mammogram and an ultrasound. |

Okay, my situation is that 8 years ago I had breast surgery (not cosmetic), I have a lot of scar tissue and abnormal lumps that resulted from them cutting through layers of fat/tissue. I still get sharp pains in my left breast, also, which is really uncomfortable. Before I came back to Korea a few months ago, I had a breast exam and my doctor said everything looked fine. But one particular nodule has been hurting recently, no matter if I touch it or not. My doctor said that when I reach 30 I should start having yearly mammograms, but I am wondering if I should have one now just to be safe.
My maternal grandmother had a double mastectomy, and my mother just had a lung removed due to lung cancer (never smoked a day in her life!)... |
Molly I think you want someone to tell you it's ok and not a big deal when deep down inside you KNOW you have to go get it checked out.
if you want someone to go with you please let me know - that's not a problem. I had mine done on a Saturday you can too.
please don't mess around with this - go get it checked out. if you have a malignancy, time is of the essence, that cannot be emphasized enough. even a month can make a difference! when caught early, you still have choices as to treatment; the more you delay, those choices diminish.
whatever excuses you are giving yourself, none of them can justify the bottom line - it's up to you to take care of yourself, period. |

breast cancer strikes men too you fool.
just ask Montel Williams - he's had a double masectomy and is a cancer survivor.
for your sake, I hope neither you or any women in your life, related or otherwise, ever have to experience b.c. - -
in the meantime, perhaps you might just want to do something about that incredible lack of sensitivity so apparent in your postings. |

On the Korean Health Insurance, you get a free mammogram at regular intervals starting at 45 (along with other cancer screenings). I got my notice (in Korean) in the mail, and just went to my local clinic. I live in a rural area in a rural province and the local medical centre had very up-to-date equipment and followed through with a good consultation-- in English. |
