Get the name of the school and remind the recruiter to contact the school early. Get the contact name and email address of the foreign English teacher co-ordinator. (My recruiter waited until the day I was scheduled to arrive before they contacted the school. I knew the name of the school about 3 weeks earlier so I assumed that the recruiter or school board would be in contact with the school; I was wrong. Making sure the school is contacted early gives the school time to prepare. My school had to rush to get me a mattress on the day I arrived And now, it will be a week or more before the other furniture arrives. Notifying them early will also give them time to include things like a laptop in the budget before you arrive.

Try to have the recruiter send you a signed contract first instead of sending them a signed contract. I.E., be the last to sign the contract. I signed a contract and then a couple weeks later I was told that the school would be changed. By signing the contract, your committed to the school but they are not committed until you receive a signed contract. Have them commit early.

Good luck with that. Also, until your visa is issued, you're not committed to anyone.

Don't pay fees to the recruiter.
