I wonder if the marmot will let people express themselves freely about it. |

Quoted for truth...
What a bunch of hogwash. Since when did people start taking forum talk seriously? I must have missed that memo... [I guess we should all be worried about "November the 5th" then eh?]
The WHOLE ridiculousness is compounded with the fact that the thread is indeed quoted from a Korean man's opinion!
I've always hated the media. Sensationalizing the crap they find on the bottoms of their shoe. |

Lee said in the past, these sites had their servers in Korea, so it was possible to have their posts erased and crack down on them, but now, their servers are overseas, so cracking down on them is virtually impossible. |
Ahhh, so now we might actually have some freedom of free speech.
It would seem people in Korea are confusing a few things. The difference between an open web forum and the press.
If they actually gave any thought to what they put in their press about us I might actually give a rats ass what a few anonymous posters said while talking out of their butts or just venting. I think what goes on in the "free" press of Korea is far more worthy of scrutiny. What goes on in an internet forum is completely open to whatever nonsense might come out of someones mouth and in this case it is kept among those who are wrting it, often disagreed upon by many if not a majority of other posters. The Korean press has no such excuse, it isn't anonymous, it shouldn't be open to verbal rantings and unlike Dave's it is presented directly to the public with intent.
I would like to see English reporters actually writing articles in those two pieces of trash that pass for a "news papers" in Korea instead of just being so kind as to "allow" us to edit their poorly written crud. |

Koreans seem to take the Internet very seriously. They read it, think it's true, tell their friends, who think it's true, and on it goes. Maybe that's why the thread was pulled. Someone said something that a Korean will think we all think is true.
Pooty saying he enjoyed taking their women for example. Koreans may think it's true, and that he wasn't taking the piss. Then word gets around, and the revenue stream at Dave's is hurt. He is upset and decides to top himself. |

I'm sure the mods have been instructed to pull all such threads. This one is probably next. You have to realize that Dave's can be put on a ban list by Korean authorities rather easily. If that happens (and there is always a real possibility that such a thing could in this country) then Dave will lose a substantial amount of money. Imagine what would happen to this forum and the job board if Dave's were to be banned? |

I realize that this is a forum for English teachers, but I've been here for a while and came to the realization that many posters here (not all, but many) are in fact not English teachers.
So when the article states that this site is for English teachers, they are only partially correct.
I believe this forum is used by many other Western workers and visiters in Korea. |

I only wish Korean media censors were as quick to delete that article, which is far more damaging to foreigners in Korea's reputations than a lousy post on Dave's is to Koreans' reputations in the eyes of the world. |

Just reading the netizen comments section makes me sick. They use low words to describe foreigners, and also to "go back home". |

And I continue to be impressed by the spine the FT community demonstrates when faced with Korea BS. |

Well the bias is spreading via Korean "journalists" like the one who wrote the ABC article. |
