|

So, just what I've been waiting for - a couple of updated Macbooks have been released. But here's the catch..
The new 2GHz Macbook in the US costs $1,299. The same model in Korea will cost you ₩2,090,000. That's an insane difference, akin to US/UK pricing.
Back a couple of weeks ago the latest Macbooks were similarly priced either side of the Pacific.
What's going on here? Were they expecting the exchange rate to keep on falling when setting their prices? |

I went to Coex and noticed that they pulled all the prices on the old Macbook Pros. So I am hoping that there is some pricing discrepancy going on right now. Currency value doesn't account for the three different markup amounts on the three MBPs. I got a good recommendation of traveling to Japan to purchase the MBP. There price is more inline with the rest of the world. |

prices here are slightly more than in the UK! I don't know how companies like Apple go about pricing their products! I was looking at getting a MBP, now got to wait for someone I know to get one for me when they go to the States |

The Mac prices in Korea are insane right now. The entry level MacBook is waaay over the US $999 and the Macbook Pro prices got insane. |
