I've been back in New Zealand for about 8 weeks now and I'm very likely to go to teachers college next year to train to be a primary school teacher. One essential bit of paperwork I'm going to need is a criminal record check to show that I kept out of trouble during my six years on and off in Korea.
Has anyone else ever had to apply for this kind of background check from the Korean police or immigration service? If so was it pretty straight forward? Despite having several different E2 visas during my time in Korea I think I always had the same foreigner id number, so I'm hoping it will be fairly easy.
As quite a lot of English teachers go into school teaching training once they get back to their own countries I imagine some ofthe readers here might have arranged for this kind of background check. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

| Yeah, I did. I called the Korean embassy, and they emailed me some paperwork, I filled it out and sent it off to the Korean police service. It was a little time consuming, in that I had to wait for the embassy to get back to me, but not at all complicated. Good luck! |
