You really shouldn't get a cat to drink until it's 18 years old in cat years. Then, start with something weak like Bailey's Irish Cream in it's milk, then work its way up to straight whiskey.

You can buy cat food at Costco, at some grocery stores, at some vet clinics and at some pet shops near Chungmuro station. When you exit Chungmuro, walk east toward Dongdaemun Stadium station. Look on your left for a pet supply store with pet taxis and cat climbing towers in the window.

If you give the cat liquor, do NOT mix it with milk! Cats don't digest dairy properly. You have been MISINFORMED by Tom and Jerry cartoons!

You can find some regular cat food at HomePlus, or more nutritional sorts at the vet office. I notice my vet has good selection of higher end cat foods that are better for their health.

A cat will drink water rather than die. Just put a dish of water close to the cat and turn your back for a while. Make sure it's not too cold.

It's important the cat has a supply of dry food. Dry food contains taurine, which prevents cats from going blind. Actually, maybe wet food here has it as well.

For my cats I always keep a steady supply of dry food out so they can eat it any time of day they feel like, and then I give them a spoonful each of wet cat food for breakfast and supper. They're perfectly healthy if a little overweight.

How do you keep a cat from getting fat? Its not like you can put it on a leash and take them for walks.

The only way I can think of is to buy cat toys and play with them daily.

They sell cat leashes at the store I mentioned in Chungmuro.

I have a cat leash. Trust me, it's not going to be a form of exercise for an average cat.

Most cats won't walk on leashes, and many would probably freak out and try to escape. But if your cat likes it, great.

Natural Balance is widely available at vet clinics in and around Seoul. You don't have to take a cab to Chungmuro. Rolling Eyes

OP, it sounds as if you're doing everything you can for the kitty and I hope he'll be OK. If you're in Seoul and want a second opinion, PM me and I'll recommend a good vet or go to the ARK board (www.animalrescuekorea.org) to get a variety of recommendations. Please don't take advice from socks and trolls on a message board.

That's right, OP.

Nobody on this board knows anything except Bramble.

The whole world is a sock or a troll except her.

Personally I think Korean and Japanese catfood are better than North American catfood. Some of it looks even appetising enough for humans to eat.
