Judging by your post, I'm assuming you don't teach English at your school...? |

Hi All,
Ever heard this expression? The principal told me today.
Honestly naturally I am not that nice of a teacher.
I have my boundaries and I set and stick to them.
As a coteacher the school has all the boundaries. I can afford to be nice. They behave in class because of my coteacher. They will not accept / don't want anything else.
I really don't care about the rest of the stuff that goes on.
Am I supposed to be a bitch?
Any thoughts?

What Michelle was saying was that she is generally a rather nice soul.
She has been told, essentially, that she needs to not smile until Christmas, so to speak to i.e. go from being saint like to a tough person in class, and she is resisting that. That's my guess from what she wrote. People often write as if they are thinking out loud and talking to a friend, and they don't quite think about the grammar and what not... |

You are correct. Grammar is the least of her worries. She really should brush up and take a refresher course on WHAT NOT...because in Korea, knowing the WHAT NOT is truly the deciding factor between a successful year here, and Game Over man! Bill Paxton style.
My advice Michelle is don't put all your rotten apples in one basket or you will end up crying over the birds not in your hand and calling them macaroni. |

Hmmm... I wonder how you would feel if she wasn't "Michelle" but Michelle 생님, a Korean co-teacher at some Hakwon somewhere out in BFE, wanting a little advice from actual native speakers about how make the best of a situation with her Foreign Teacher...
Great job, guys. Looks like she matched her meat. You really licked her ...! (Stallone: That's met his match and kicked his ...!) |

Bumping the bump. Anyone care to apologize for being a jerk to someone who may not be a native speaker? Or are you all too embarrassed? |

A quick search of her posting history proves she is not a native Korean. |
