What does the Wii Mod let you do? What doesn't it let you do?

I'll take a stab in the dark that it enables you to play games you download off the net and burn yourself, thereby saving you tons of money?

That is the main reason of modding any video game machine. Laughing

If it's the same as the xbox it'll prevent you playing online but enable you to play 'backup' games.

Might have to keep an eye on updates too.

It will NOT prevent you from playing online. I play online all the time.

You can play all regions and you can play burned games.

Does it allow you to play any homebrew?

Also, I read that the KOrean Wii's can't be modded yet. Is that still the case?

I don't know about Korean Wiis, as the last time I asked about it in that cave in Yongsan, they all told me they only modded Japanese Wiis.

Korean wii's can definitely be modded now. Got one modded a few weeks back in Yongsan, 80,000 won.

If your system is a different region from the game, you will need to remove that update

Thanks for your reply. Please explain further "remove that update" because i read somewhere that if you insert a game disc (that has a newer firmware) it will automatically update your firmware and can brick your modded wii.

I really would love to be able to play english games on my korean wii but i am afraid of that modding will cause it to brick with firmware update.

Thanks in advance.

any game you buy in yongsan will have the protection removed.

For ones that you download yourself

1) unpack (if in rar format)
2) run the iso through WiiBrickBlocker v1.3R2 (easy to find on google)

~ this will remove the update that will brick your machine if you are updating with another regions software. Simple...

Then burn the dvd and play
