Osaka apparently leads the world in sporting robots. For the fifth straight time, Team Osaka has won the Robo-Cup World Championship. This year's event was held in Suzhou, China and attracted competitors from 32 countries.

The winning robot is known as as "V stone TichnoR" and is a 100cm tall humanoid robot and won in all four skill categories : football, running, obstacle race and dribbling.
Team Osaka is a group established by academics and private industry in this area to promote the develpment of robotic know-how.
