It ain't over until the Diebold voting machines in swing states run by a renowned Republican supporter indicates the "results".

2000 and 2004 were the first national elections with the machines in use and they seemed to work "fine", except they didn't, and it was a minor news story.

Absolutely, especially since

Don't believe everything you read.

*Ahem!*

Howard Fineman's article makes good reading and seems about right.

Why Its Still a Race

Why hasnt Obama run away with this?

Because the country remains culturally divided. Because the more it looks like Democrats will score huge gains in Congress, the more worried soft Republican voters get. Because McCain has succeeded, in the minds of some of those voters, in raising the hoary specter of tax-and-spend liberals. Because Obama hails from a place (South Side Chicago) and background (the son of professional academics) more reminiscent of Democratic losers like Michael Dukakis, Al Gore and John Kerry than winners like LBJ, Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton. Because some voters remember the hate-filled sound bites of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

And, to a degree we cannot measure and may never fully know, because Obama is an African-American---and one with a Swahili name at that.

...and because many voters will vote pro-life and traditional values (included in 'culturally divided' above? But significant enough to be specifically mentioned).

You weren't screaming that in the past couple of elections, were you, hippie?

Are you calling me a hippie?

I bet you will not find a single person on this board who would agree that I am anything like a hippie. And hippie? That is so passe.

your a hippie

Yes you are a bloody hippie, Kuros. Everyone here knows it. You are like one of those lawyer-hippies from the 1970s. I bet you even listen to the Greatful Dead and do that funky arm-waving dance, too.

Get a job.

I think Kuros has been called a George Bush apologist and a Neo Con a least a few times.
