The sympathy rests only with Barack Obama because black people reside in ghettos and women don't.
Unreal. |

Is either one of the effigies "OK" (as was implied in the OP)?
No, and I dare anyone to find evidence someone said either is OK.
Is one worse than the other? Well, this is what most of the arguments seem to be about. Simply stated, yes, one is worse than the other for cultural and historical reasons. For those of you who are comparing Palin to a witch, is that what you really want to be doing? |

RFOL[sic]."Will be taken" by whom, my presumptuous little Mrs. Gopher? How many people do you claim to speak for here? |
Don't quite have a full grasp of the passive voice?
In any event, it seems the answer is no. All of that posturing about private property was just smoke coming out your behind.

Again congratulations, extremist hypocrites.

Who is the plural you're speaking to here?

Who is "they"?
In any case, there have been Obama hangings in Kentucky, Oregon, California, and Indiana.

Here is the CNN Anti-Christ's totally biased reporting on the issue:

P.S. ROFL at your back editing. Only 2 people on this board regularly indulge in that practice: You and Regicide. |

Excuse me, but your partisan slip is showing, ma'am.

Could some cops in a Border/Southern state like Kentucky be more hypersensitive about hanging a black effigy than Hollywood cops about hanging a female effigy? Hmmmm. |

The guy that put it up thinks it was ok, in that he saw no problem with it.

Taken from here , last line.
Now, did he actually say "OK"? No, but I didn't imply that in my title.

"Comparing her to a witch", lol!
People are comparing her effigy to the killing of women under charges of "witchcraft". That's not "comparing her to a witch".
She's being compared to the women that were executed under false charges. Do you actually believe those women were witches?
Many blacks were lynched under false charges. Does that mean that the people complaining about the Obama effigy are comparing Barrack to rapists, horse thieves, and child molesters? |

But CNN's coverage seems to imply this, by default, in any case.
I saw an aggressive female reporter going to the guy's house in Virginia, I believe, whose wife had printed and was distributing those undeniably racist-stereotype mailers (B. Obama, fried chicken, Kool Aid, and a watermelon, etc.). She was visibly upset and accusing her interviewee of racism at his doorstep.
Where was she or someone like her from CNN, home of the crying, hand-wringing Anderson Cooper, in West Hollywood, asking -- nay confronting -- those who had staged the S. Palin hanging to justify their extremist actions? Nowhere to be seen. Why? This incident does not involve blacks. Period.
Conclusion: the left's extremism does not appear on CNN's radar as extremism. That is CNN's right. But let us be honest about what is going on here. |

In case you didn't get it, this is reference to Palin and witchcraft that I was alluding to:

Not a good analogy, at least if you're a Palin defender.
And finally, this is the biggest difference.

Arrests in Plan to Kill Obama and Black Schoolchildren
Published: October 27, 2008
WASHINGTON Two young men who are believers in white power have been arrested and charged in Tennessee in what federal officials described as a plan to assassinate Senator Barack Obama and kill black children at a school. |
When you find out about the Sarah Palin assassination plot attempted by two misogynists, you can get back to me. |

The effigies...are both in poor taste. |
You say "poor taste" where I say "extremist." I can live with that difference. Why not simply leave it at that? Why is it necessary to argue for the moral righteousness of your own side's sufferings over the other side's? Both are equally wrong. It is wrong to fantasize about executing human beings who have not been sentenced to execution -- especially where some here claim to oppose capital punishment, let alone mob-rules justice, on principle. |
