So I got to ask... Why has Dave's become so incredibly strict on avatars and pictures all of a sudden? 
I understand some posters try to load oversized avatars and/or pictures, but don't the modes have power to remove, warn and kick out repeat offenders?
Sometime back I thought I would change my avatar, but once I deleted mine it was over. I've been trying for months to load another avatar but with these stupid size and resolution restrictions it would seem to have to be black and white and the size of a pin head.
The first time I joined this site my application had to await approval of the mods. Wouldn't one look at an oversized or inappropriate avatar be good reason to simply not approve the application or give warning?
And what's up with no pictures? |

I can't find any decent avatars for 80x80 and 6 kb. Is this something we are supposed to create?

| I guess you have missed out on the mad porn bomber that rears his ugly head from time to time. That is most likely the reason for no pictures and the avatar deal. |

I did miss out on him, but my question still remains. Why doesn't Dave just ban abusers for life, and make a requirement of 25 posts or so before you can put up pictures.
And I thought avatars go through the modes for approval anyway. So if I request to put up a bad avatar they could just deny my request with a warning. |

I think that picture a few weeks back of that person bent over shitting into their own mouth may have had something to do with it.
It's a bit like being in some kind of virtual lockdown at the moment. So, basically, someone free B-wing has a dirty protest and the governor, as punishment, has deemed that we should all lose our privileges. |

That magic number is just arbitrary. They said there was a certain requirement for being able to send PMs when I joined up (I think around 25 posts) but I'd hit around 200 before I began to raise a stink and finally got some satisfaction. In this place, the squeakiest wheel gets oiled. |
