To the degree that he moderated between the fringes of the review staff, yes indeed. But he wasn't much of an editor otherwise; he never wrote a major piece during his entire tenure there.

If we can trust what Obama says in his second book, he will be a centrist. And let's not forget his maternal grandparents were solid centrists. The things he admires his tutu for are values often championed by the Right, actually. The Far Left might turn out to be more disgruntled than they realize, which is another reason why I voted for him.
