Plenty of rednecks did vote for Obama. I'll guess at least half of the under-35's of them. Sports, pop culture, and similar economic circumstances are helping to close that gap. Redneck doesn't necessarily mean ignorant, or racist in all cases--think Dukes of Hazard. Many are actually more race-blind than a city slicker from LA or Brooklyn.

As far as not having 60 senate seats, I am sure the 56 or so Democratic senators can work with enough GOP senators to get things done.

There may even be a Maverick or two among them willing to reach across the aisle. Wink

Like starting multiple flame war threads and not responding to anyone's rebuttals or questions?

If you listen to Obama and McCain's speeches today, only one had an audience booing the opponent.

I don't respond to idiotic posts, lies and/or insults. So why should I respond to lies? Like you saying I don't respond to anyone's rebuttals is a lie. So why should I respond to responses like this?

This response is a well-written rebuttal to a previous response alleging the OP lied, to which the OP has righteously responded to that spurious prior response!

[quote="Countrygirl"]and this is not just based on his colour[quote]

Too bad all the drive-by media stations (CNN, ABC, CBS, etc) interviewed mostly black people. There were a few token white people for good measure. Oh, and then Spike Lee threw in that his family is 5 generations removed from slaves Rolling Eyes

^ tried looking for the video everywhere, but to no avail.

But here is mention of race and white people perhaps being uncomfortable with a black president:

I'll you, five eagles, find the numerous posts in this forum during the last 3 weeks in which you never responded to dozens of posters who disagreed or rebutted you. You do respond to a rare post after your OP, but most of the time you don't. You disappear.

I'm guessing the reason why is that your OPs contained flawed logic based on conservative reasoning or "Biblical proof" with no sound defense.

Just to clarifying, I wasn't attesting to his character in general as a poster here but in this specific thread.

A friend of mine from Chicago was in Grant Park and farther away from the podium there were in fact a smattering of boos from the more partisan in the crowd. So you're engaging in wishful thinking.

Go ahead and find some. Generally I respond to most of my posts if they aren't taken over by another poster. However, if people are responding by mocking or insults...then I won't.

You may think my logic is flawed, but I think the reverse is true.

Does that mean, you are in fact lying and can't prove what you are saying?

Here's the 2nd thread I noticed you disappearing from, I called you out twice on it to no response:

http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=137178

I don't have the link to the other one, it's back there somewhere.

Get get me wrong, disappear all you want. I often start threads and disappear, but not when I'm attempting to persuade on hefty issues. You've responded a lot more to your threads lately.

Alright, you got me on that one. I guess I was surprised at some of the responses on that thread. Some said they actually wanted more people to be like Bill Ayers....a committed terrorist.

What do you say to something like that?

Here's another thread you vanished from: http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?p=1844411&highlight=#1844411
(albeit you did put a few responses before your disappearance)

I for one admired Ayers because he fought for what he believed in when he was younger and repented for his errors. And instead of selling out, he became a well-respected educator later in his life. All in all, not bad for a former 60's radical - certainly a better outcome than many other sixties survivors I've known.

I wish more people had argued the points on that thread rather than using insults as their points.

Ayers never repented. It would be totally different if he repented.
